Making Oregano Oil is really simple. You only need organic dried oregano leaves (dried from your garden, or bought in the store) and organic extra virgin olive oil. Measurements listed below do not have to be exact. Here are the steps, short and sweet. For more details, there is a video you can watch. 1. Put 1/4 cup dried oregano in a pint jar. 2. Cover with 3/4 cup olive oil. Stir to make sure all the dried leaves are covered and somewhat floating in the oil. 3. Screw the lid on securely and let it set for 2 to 4 weeks. I suggest at least 4 weeks. If it goes a bit longer it will be fine. If you can remember, gently shake the jar daily. 4. Strain and store in a dark colored jar. Should last for several years. * A new step I added with my last batch was to set the jar in hot water for 15 minutes before drying the jar and placing it on a shelf to start the steeping process. The thought behind this is that it will help to release more healing chemicals from the oregano.
